Rachel Greenwood - Violin
Rachel studied in Liverpool where she experienced a wide range of performing opportunities from playing on period instruments to recording sessions for a number of bands.
After attaining a first in performance she then went on to begin a teaching and playing career. This took her to Guernsey and Northamptonshire, where she ran a music centre, before landing in Dorset.
Rachel now plays in many local ensembles, is leader of the Dorset Sinfonia and plays Baroque violin with Artavian Baroque and other ensembles. She teaches violin and viola as well as classroom music at Perrott Hill School. She also conducts Stringalings for Wessex music.
One of the delights of Rachel's week is running the baby and toddler music group 'DO RE MI time' based in Dorchester as well as 'Tuneful Tots ' at Perrott Hill. There is lots of evidence to support the importance of music for little ones and seeing the same children learn instruments in the local area when they are older is wonderful!
