Wessex Schools Music comes under the umbrella of the Wessex Multi-Academy Trust.  It was formally known as DASP Music (and was an independent charity), supported by the schools in the former Dorchester Area Schools' Partnership.

Wessex Schools Music operates in a similar way to DASP Music, coordinating instrumental tuition across the Wessex MAT schools and their affiliates, providing a range of musical ensembles open to all local children under the age of 19, and organising regular concerts, workshops and events. It now also offers bespoke curriculum support for schools including CPD for staff, curriculum resources and networking opportunities.

Our aim is to give young people across the Wessex MAT schools first class, inspirational music making opportunities. We are fortunate to have an outstanding team of instrumental music teachers, classroom music teachers, music leaders, headteachers, office staff and administrators, all of whom work together to ensure the best possible provision for our students, parents and schools.

All money that we raise (through concerts, events, sponsorship etc) is ring-fenced for Wessex Schools Music, within the wider Wessex MAT organisation.  If you would like to donate to one of our projects, please contact us.
