Nikki Olson - Flute

Nikki studied music at the University of Leeds and the University of North Texas, graduating with a first-class degree specialising in flute performance. While orchestral flute playing is her real passion, Nikki also plays saxophone and clarinet and has spent many hours in the pit bands of shows and musicals over the years. Her favourite musical experience however was playing the (huge) bass pans in a steel band in Texas!
Nikki has been teaching in the Weymouth and Dorchester area for over 20 years and has taught hundreds of students from those starting with their first notes, to many going off to college and university to continue their studies or taking their flute performance diploma exams. Nikki teaches in Dorchester Middle and St Osmund’s Middle schools and at Thomas Hardye School where she runs the flute choir.
