David Ansell - Brass
David Ansell grew up in Dorchester, playing in schools' music groups, the Durnovaria Silver Band and many other local ensembles. He went on to study horn and piano at Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music. He spent some years teaching, and playing professionally in orchestras (on horn), jazz orchestras (on horn and trumpet), a salsa band (on keyboard), a samba band (with a drum), and many other ensembles.
He is now once again resident in the Dorchester area teaching all brass instruments and piano, as well as conducting and performing. David conducts the Dorset Sinfonia and the DASP Brass groups.
